What is

Teff?

Teff (Eragostis Tef) is an ancient grain believed to have originated in the Horn of Africa where is still cultivated and predominantly consumed by the local population.

In the past was considered a minor crop outside Ethiopia due to the high import costs, today is grown in Europe and made available to Italy through Aksum.

Whole grain

and gluten free

Teff is naturally gluten free and has very high nutritional benefits. It’s a perfect choice for those who are intolerant to gluten and have diabetes.

Teff grain is rich in minerals such like potassium, calcium, phosphorus and contains a specific type of iron easier to digest than the one in the other common cereals.

Versatile and

great for baking

Teff has a mildly nutty flavor and is incredibly versatile in its use. The grains can be added to salads, soups and bread while the flour can easily be added to or replace common flours for baking any kind of product, from pizza to bread, biscuits, energy bars and also gluten-free pasta.

Packed in nutrients and quick to digest, Teff is getting more and more popular between endurance athletes and is being added in many baby-food recipes.
